Yes I know theres plenty of mech games but the modern ones are literally just reskinned first person shooters which definitely isnt what I want. While gameplay is considered today as mediocre and clunky the steel battalion takes simulation to the extreme: dying without Pressing the EJECT button first would even wipe the save file. The story is incredibly frenetic and explosive and the different abilities and attacks you can unleash on those who dare to meet you will keep you coming back again and again. This interface is very spartan but also very immersive and different strategies must be set based on the enemy type and the number of devices you are facing. If an ally is within your grasp they will act independently under the AI control to help you fight but it will close hostile units which means that it is possible to defeat more enemies in tandem during a fight.
